What do you use fo a weighted retrieving bumper in the 5-7 lb range? Ideally I'd like to find something I could vary the weight on. Ideas?
Thanks in advance. Wes

Wes:
At one time Hans Klein sold weighted training dummies. They are made of wood and have metal pieces of varying weights that can be added to increase the overall weight of the retrieving dummy. There is also a weighted bag that is suppose to simulate a fox. Sand, marbles, or gravel can be added to each side to increase the weight of the bag. I would suggest you contact Hans and see if he is still selling these items or maybe he could give you some contacts. Good luck.

Thanks! I tried to look up Kleinwood Sports' website but it isn't available. Did he go out of business?

Wes:
I do not think so, I have heard other people say that they could not access his web site. They ended up just calling Hans to get the information from him. His phone number and email address are 914 635-3961 hklein4@attglobal.net
If Hans no longer sells training aids, I am sure he can put you in touch with someone who does sell these items. Let me know if you have any trouble contacting him.

Made these in the garage, for FF and weighted object work. Borrowed a tiny lathe from a friend. Used a 3 1/2" holesaw to cut out the maple pieces. Glued them together on a 1/4" threaded rod. Turned/shaped/sanded them on a tiny lathe i borrowed. Cut out the lead plates with the same holesaw. Cut up some bumpers and gorilla glued them to the mouthed part. The weight can be adjusted with the amount of maple plates, adding lead ones for desired weight.
