Hello everyone.. New DD owner looking for info regarding the qualifications for a dog to be entered in the HZP.. Initially I thought the dog had to be HD frei and pass the VJP with a 65 or better??? Is there anything more I need to know??? like HN.. coat/conf rating etc.etc. Thanks, ut

UT:
I believe you are referring to the Armbruster HZP where a dog must meet certain qualification in order to enter. Any registered drahthaar that meets the age requirement (dependent on when the particular dog was whelped) can run in any of the HZPs conducted in the various locations around the U.S.
The qualifications for entry into the Armbruster HZP are as follows:
1. Scored a minimum of 65 points at the VJP
2. Has clearly defined visible facial furnishings (beard)
3. Meets breed show standards with at least g/g (determined at the Armbruster HZP pre-evaluation, normally conducted during the summer)
4. Is certified HD frei
5. Successfully completed the HN evaluation
6. Is gunfire stable in the water (determined at Armbruster HZP pre-evaluation, conducted at the same time as No. 3 above)
7. Will freely enter the water and search (determined at the Armbruster HZP pre-evaluation, conducted at the same time as No. 3 above)
The entry fee is $160 which includes the HZP and the Breed Show. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Jill, thank you for your response.. Yes I was thinking of entering the Armbruster. We test next weekend VJP and I would like to test the HZP or Armbruster. Regarding the HN could you please pm me and see if we are on the same page regarding what is expected of the dog. Now the HZP only requires the pass of the VJP and the dog has to be HD frei? correct? Thank you. UT
